Fountain pens

A month ago I started a bullet journal. In case you don’t know what it is, it’s basically a structured journal, but it can be as flexible as you are.

I’m logging my sleep, a few habbits, some tasks, some ideas, the weather… stuff like that. It’s not a fully formed habbit yet, but I think I’m getting there.

As I mentioned in a previous post, I have a digital journal for many years, but there’s something special about analog writing… Total freedom to choose a notebook, to write where you want, use whatever pen you want, to sketch or doodle, to add stickers…

I started writing on a random journal (a Filofax notebook with removable pages) and a random black pencil. Then I told my brother that I’m journaling and I’m thinking to use a fountain pen, so asked him about that (because he knows much more than me) and he made me a gift: a Platinum demonstrator fountain pen. This opened the Pandora box 📦 for me and I started to look into fountain pens like crazy… Then I became crazy about inks. Then about different types of notebooks and paper types. Then I started to learn about cursive handwriting, watercolors, gouache and acrylic paints… Oh my!

Anyway, currently I own 4 pens:

  • Kaweco Frosted Sport Natural Coconut (F nib)
  • Lamy Safari Umbra (F nib)
  • TWSBI ECO Black (F nib)
  • Platinum Balance (F nib)

I will definitely buy more pens & inks, because they’re amazing and I want to test as many as I can.

I’m a big fan of keeping lists of links, so here’s all the stores that I’m watching. They have fountain pens, inks, journals, stationery, etc. You can spend weeks browsing the catalogs (all of them from UK, alphabetical order):

More shops from Europe:

::Note:: That I will add new shops to this list as I discover them, so the list will grow over time 😁
